Summer Begins…Ausar likes pie.

Last week was the first full week of summer for our boys.  School ended on June 10th.  From Tuesday – Sunday last week we managed to squeeze in 18 hours of practice time and six baseball games.  That’s a lot of rides needed by our boys, a lot of laundry for me, and a lot of sandwiches!  Feeding the boys is a major expense for Power Cross, but it’s also one of the more important things we try to help them with.  Someone has to teach them that is better to eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich and water  in between practices than it is to eat a bag of chips and a coke.  Last week alone we spent about $350.00 on food. Around $2.00 of that amount went towards the whip cream that we smashed in Ausar’s face after the baseball games on Sunday, it was his birthday.  That is money well spent!

Today we held our first Power Cross JV football mini-camp.  We have about 40 boys trying out for the two JV teams.  They had a fun time, and learned what lifes is going to be like playing for a Power Cross team, which means they did a lot of up downs, push ups, and running!  Everyone there raised their hand they’d be back for more tomorrow.  Within 30 minutes of us dropping the boys off, the phones were ringing with more kids who wanted to play for Power Cross.
